Celebrating the Careys Bay Hotel's 140th anniversary on Saturday with a Victorian-themed dress-up party are (from left): Ethel Little, Steve Little, Jo Kidston (proprietor), Mary Kidston and John Kidston, all from Dunedin, Anna Jopp and Ben Kidston, from Wanaka, and Caroline and Tama Walker, from Dunedin.

The hotel, built in 1874, was designed by architect David Ross, who also designed the Athenaeum building in the Octagon and the original part of the Otago Museum building.
